Re: Andy Carroll

Said it before we signed him and I'll say it again ... This is a guy who will never score more than 10 goals in a season or play half the games. Hes a one dimensional option even when he's fit. His physicality and generally poor balance and running style means he's an absolute guarantee to be suffering injuries on a constant basis. Like he's recently admitted, his general lunging and throwing himself about means he will always get twists and pulls let alone whethe he has a genuinely (and most likely) recurring injury weakness anyway.
To his credit he tries to make up for his general lack of consistent contribution by at least hurling himself arround the pitch.
So, sell sell sell at the very first sniff of a chance OR keep him on the bench as option B in the right games and let him be an impact sub ..... But that's crazy on his money! Ludicrous signing of a moronic manager

Keep him unless we get a decent offer. Should come out with a statement now saying he's not for sale. Drive the price up

Would let him go if Newcastle gave us 10m for him.
Good player when on the pitch, just hasn't been on it enough and it's becoming a joke relying on him.

See how he is under a new manager before writing him off, if his injury record continues though we'll just have to cut our losses.

How about Nolan as manager and big Andy his assistant. At least they would be doing something useful for their combined 130 grand a week.

Should retire as he will get injured either in training or 1st/2nd/3rd game into season. He can then concentrate on his kid.

like most they get complacent and my guess is he gets special treatment. hope to see immediate improvement out of carroll with a new manager, otherwise hes a proven dead loss and should be shipped out. shame could be good at best!

Most of the other teams in the Premiership can field a centre forward who plays more matches and score more goals than Carroll and most of them has been paid less money and has a lower wage bill than our coathanger that also has a huge medical bill and rehabilitation costs every year.

Rodgers spotted quickly enough that AC doesnt fit with a team who keep the ball on the deck and move it quickly. apart from the physical battle he makes life easy for a centre half coz he is never gonna run in behind you or run the channels.

Re: Andy Carroll

Facts are we kept winning games when Andy Carroll was back in the lineup this season and stopped when he was out again. He also showed some decent skill in there.
His fitness needs to be managed better and maybe in the end that still will not be enough to keep him healthy but if you cant see the positive impact has had and can have on games, then you are letting past biases get the better of your judgment.
Try him in a different system when he is not the focal point all the time and see if his body holds up better, I say. Like everybody else clean slate, evaluate and go from there.
